Our basement was finished, but we had to tear down two walls to install a water mitigation system. All the electrical is run, and there is no plumbing in this room. We want to insulate, reframe, and finish the two walls that we had to remove. We plan to use rigid foam insulation sheets with an R-value of 15. Next, we will put down a green treated base plate adhered to the concrete with construction adhesive. We will then build our walls out of 2x4s with the studs 16in apart on center and a 2x4 top plate. The walls will be nailed to the green-treated base plate and to the floor joists above. Finally, we plan to hang 1/2 Sheetrock.
