Installing an Andersen 400 series gliding patio door into an existing rear opening on an emergency basis as the home was broken into to via what is now a broken patio door. The broken patio door is not able to be repaired and thus must be replaced in order to make the home secure, in turn allowing the homeowner to return to residing in the home once the new patio door has been installed. We did call the Planning & Zoning Dept. at the City of Rochester to obtain guidance on how to proceed with installation prior to receiving a permit. It was suggested that I reference the MN Building Code Admin Section 1300.0120 Sub part 5 - Emergency Repairs.
