    PARTIAL APPROVAL

looked at safe room doors, and other partitions with electronically locked doors. on the 9th and 10th floor access to (2) exits is required [1006.3 MSBC] some partitions separating the floor into (2) separate areas were changed from solid walls to glass and were not installed. will need to verify compliant locking arrangements with regards to egress and access to both exits for electronically locked doors. contractor stated panic button would be installed next to card reader when pushed would unlock door and alert security. partitions will need to be installed, and locks will need to be tested, confirming compliance with Section 1010.1.9.9 -or- 1010.1.9.10 MSBC. this should be done with the Fire Marshal, so we can verify locks drop upon fire alarm (exit access is required from BOTH directions, as access to (2) exits is required from each side of the separated areas.
