Non-Residential Building Alteration

Project Description The project involves constructing a 20-foot square limestone planter box in front of the Newman Center. The design will incorporate a perimeter wall around the existing spotlight, allowing the light to remain concealed within the landscaping while still effectively illuminating and showcasing the statue. The statue will be mounted on a custom limestone base, and the surrounding wall will be constructed of sawn limestone blocks with varied joints and topped with a 3-inch sawn cap. The wall will stand approximately 21 inches tall—an ideal height for visitors to sit and enjoy the space. A 4-foot-deep concrete footing will be installed to support the statue, and concrete will also be poured beneath the planter box to ensure stability. We will be working with professional masons to create a permanent structure that complements the existing architecture of the Newman Center. Landscaping will include a variety of shrubs and bushes sourced from Edenvale Nursery. The pla
