was scheduled for a final. but noted at inspection that there was a 3 ply 1.75x16 beam in ceiling. was carrying ceiling load only. eng. called for 3.5" bearing each side. stair side had 2.75. told contractor to shim under beam to get full support and with ceiling load only would be ok that side at 2.75" bearing
