    Met on-site with GC & AOR, re: areas where new construction meets existing roof construction. Existing structural columns & beams are fire protected but the bar joists are not (IBC T601, roof construction and associated secondary members require 1hr protection for types II-A & I-B). Existing bar joists are enclosed in 1hr UL system. New construction all steel has spray applied 1hr. AOR will email all UL info (existing & proposed) with plan showing areas where transition occurs for BO approval of methods prior to submitting plan change for review..

    Met with Job Sup re: temp exiting arrangement during construction when school starts. I reiterated the requirement to keep all required exits free and clear and to protect occupants from dangerous construction hazards. I suggested creating an emergency action plan and coordinating with fire inspector (EL). Overhead construction operations at the north exit would need to cease and potential hazards would need to be immediately removed in the event of an emergency evacuation, or a suitable egress tunnel would need to be in place to protect exiting occupants from falling construction materials.
