CORRECTION NOTICEInspectorBrian Stemwedel
Per MN Rules 1346.0104- New mechanical equipment shall be installed in compliance with the MN Mechanical Code including access and service space. could not access equipment from attic scuttle for inspection (no solid flooring). Additionally, (2) ceiling areas were removed on each side of hallway in 2nd floor bedrooms for access. was able to see through plastic in master bedroom but did not remove it due to insulation (all over plastic) Corrections: (H.O. stated contractor had taken many pictures, my inspection was done visually through transparent plastic sheeting below unit above 1. Attic shall be provided with access to mechanical equipment including an opening and unobstructed passageway large enough to allow the removal of the appliance. access shall be 22" wide, 30" high and not longer than 20' in length. verify required access to equipment located in attic [306.3 MN Mechanical Code] 2. At the time of inspection, there appeared to be an auxiliary drain pan with separate drain line in addition to the unit condensate drain line. condensate was run to exterior, however only one drain line was located at exterior, could not verify where auxiliary drain line was routed. verify compliant auxiliary protection [307.2.3 MN Mech. Code] 3. Missing locking port caps on condenser (exterior ) [1101.10 MN Mechanical Code] 4. A2l System ( RDS- Refrigerant Detection System) needs to be tested to verify operation of sensor/ safety functions. [ASHRAE 15 standard for refrigeration systems]
