At approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 27, 2007, Employee #1 returned to a 15 feet by 15 feet 8 inches A-frame cabin that was his sleeping quarters at the company. T he cabin was provided by the employer because the site was in a remote location. The overnight low was approximately 34 degrees Fahrenheit. The next morning, Ma y 28, he did not show up for his scheduled work time of 9:00 a.m. At 9:15 a.m., he was found dead, lying in bed in the cabin with a Williams Model Number 200161 1 liquid propane (LP) heater running. The medical examiner ruled the death to be due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
