Employee killed when trailer overturns on truck cab
At approximately 10:50 a.m. on June 5, 1997, Employee #1 backed up a semi-tracto r with an attached end-dump trailer to an aggregate pile to deliver a load of ro ck. The tractor and trailer jackknifed to nearly a right angle. As Employee #1 w as dumping his load, the trailer twisted and tipped onto the cab, pinning him ag ainst the steering wheel and dashboard. Emergency 911 was called and the local f ire department, police, and ambulance all responded. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at the scene; he was transported to the Mercy Hospital morgue.
