Employee killed when pinned in pool of molten metal
On June 7, 1996, Employee #1 was working next to the west side of an 88 in. by 8 8 in. by 40 in. high mold that contained molten metal. A 600 lb section of the m old fell away, pinning him to the floor. The 2,800 degrees F molten metal flowed out of the mold and encircled Employee #1. He died of burns from exposure to th e molten metal.
